A COOL, HIGH TECH BMX HELMET YOUNG RIDERS WANT TO WEAR
DIGITAL REDESIGN
Ridge is a full-face BMX helmet I designed for adolescent riders, combining race-grade protection with lightweight comfort and a look riders actually want to wear. Coolmax moisture-wicking fabric, a Fidlock magnetic strap, carbon DLS-printed EPU padding (the same technology used in NHL helmets), MIPS impact protection, and a compression-molded composite shell with a custom vinyl wrap work together as one system.
The Problem: Young BMX riders often ride without helmets, and not out of ignorance. Existing helmets are hot, heavy, and uncool. When protective gear feels like a punishment, kids won’t wear it, no matter how necessary it is.
The Solution: Every material choice removes a reason to skip the helmet. Coolmax fabric and the 3D-printed padding keep riders cool and comfortable through long sessions. The Fidlock strap makes gloved on and off effortless. MIPS and a compression-molded shell deliver serious protection without bulk. The vinyl-wrapped exterior makes the helmet something riders choose to wear, not something they’re told to.
