Omni is a Bluetooth speaker I designed, engineered, and fabricated. Inspired by the bright colors and simple shapes of mid-century modern design, it pairs organic and geometric forms in a playful juxtaposition.
The Problem: Most portable speakers on the market are meant to stay in your bag, rather than be a display piece. This means that when they are not in use, they are hidden away, and often forgotten about.
The Solution: Omni is designed to be displayed as a standout piece, valued for its look as much as its function. The speaker sits at a 45-degree angle, projecting sound from a desk or low table into the room. The spherical speaker is independent of its rectangular base, so it can travel with you anywhere. The two connect magnetically and charge wirelessly.
